It's not real life.

Social media doesn't show the full picture...

It seems that everyone is posting on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and every other social media platform out there (and I am guilty of this too). Often times people post the best of their lives to make strangers think their life is all amazing. There are rarely any posts showing the sadness, defeat, anger, frustration, and fears in their real lives. Sharing mental breakdowns are frowned upon but they are REAL things that happen to literally EVERYONE. Failures are a part of life but are never shared, or if they are, they are the dumb fail videos that end up viral because they are funny. I often scroll through social media wishing I had this or that in my life or I was able to do that all the time. Well, the reality is, it's not like that ALL the time. Unless you make money by doing the “fun” stuff, most people will only show the best parts of their lives. It is so easy to say, “they have a great life” and “I wish I could do that”. The truth is, most of those influencers that live a lavish life have worked hard and fought hard to get the life that they want.

For the majority of other people on social media, the good things they share on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and whatever other social media you may use, are not the full picture. You never know what happens when the camera stops rolling or in the moments between snapping photos. I don’t post on social media every day, but I noticed that In the past, I have really only shown the good stuff or the fun stuff in my life. I am trying to take a moment every day, (and at minimum every week) to think about the reality of my life and then share that with you. It is not always a glamorous life, but it is my life and I LOVE it. The good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, the exciting, the devastating, all of it is my life and has shaped me into the person I am today. Sure, I want to travel more and have more fun experiences, but I just can’t because I am a full-time nurse practitioner who can’t take two weeks off per month to travel and live a “glamorous” life. I would absolutely love to do that and to be able to do more crafting and creating--which is my side business right now--but I just don’t have the time or the audience/customers to make that a more full-time job.

I also have put so much time, money, and energy into being a nurse practitioner that to give up on it would be devastating for me. I am learning right now that my “dream job” isn’t necessarily all that I wanted or expected it to be. I want to share my knowledge and skills with others. and I am looking for different ways to do that which bring me joy and fulfillment, such as writing this blog. I am the type of person who wants to do everything and try new things ALL the time and sometimes I may spread myself too thin. But I learn from those experiences and figure out where I need to focus more and set goals for myself.

I want my life to be real and to share every real aspect with you all whether that is good bad easy or difficult. Thank you for coming along with me as I share a part of my life with you. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
